Rapid development and Realization of innovative products

Abstract: products are the source of enterprise activities, and constantly launching innovative products is the dream of any enterprise. From the perspective of manufacturing strategy, this paper discusses that product innovation is the core competitiveness of future enterprises. It is proposed that 3D CAD models are the basis for the rapid development of innovative products, but facing the competitive pressure of similar models with better plastic materials such as Meilan and nuts, the research progress of "virtual manufacturing digital factory" and the development trend of rapid prototyping manufacturing are discussed, as well as their application prospects in the rapid development of innovative products. Finally, the application case of Network Alliance Manufacturing in the rapid development of innovative products is introduced

1 changes in manufacturing strategies

1) product innovation is the core competitiveness of enterprises

in the 20th century, people once defined manufacturing as "an industry that converts means of production into products through processing", and the value-added of products is mainly reflected in the processing process. Decades ago, production scale was undoubtedly the most important manufacturing strategy, and then manufacturing cost, product quality and market responsiveness replaced production scale as the most important strategy in different periods, indicating that manufacturing strategy is changing with the passage of time. The first manufacturing strategy in the new century is technological innovation, as shown in Figure 1

with the intensification of market competition and the acceleration of product upgrading, the value-added role of product innovation, marketing and services has significantly improved. Knowledge and information have become important production factors, and manufacturing has become an industry that processes materials and information at the same time. This trend makes the product value-added curve change significantly, and the middle part changes from convex to concave, as shown in Figure 2

in other words, the key source of product value-added will be the development of new products, marketing and customer service. It is a process of knowledge and information processing, not a process of material processing. The rapid realization of innovative products has become the core competitiveness of enterprises. Many entrepreneurs have realized that the current focus of competition is often not whether they can manufacture products, but whether they can quickly develop competitive new products that meet market needs

2) the performance of production innovation encourages the digitalization of machine products, which is the basis of enterprise informatization.

Our goal is to achieve rapid product development and shorten the launch cycle of new products, so as to obtain market competitive advantage and obtain greater profits. In other words, we should complete the traditional engineering design and business process with faster speed, lower cost and higher quality, and create more benefits. Therefore, we should move from drawing board to digitalization and integration

3D solid modeling creates conditions for the digitization of product models, and digital models become the basis of the whole process integration of product life. In particular, cad/cae/cam/pdm integration (C3P) finds a shortcut for enterprise information integration. In the enterprise intranet environment, the digital model of products will be integrated with management information systems such as manufacturing execution system (MES) and enterprise resource planning (ERP) through cad/cam technology and product data management (PDM). Manufacturing execution system includes workshop level computer management such as job planning and scheduling, quality control and working condition data acquisition, while enterprise resource planning is the computer management of all business processes from suppliers to customers, which are based on product data. In addition, the realization of cross enterprise and cross regional product design collaboration and network alliance manufacturing through Internet and enterprise outreach will further promote the comprehensive informatization of China's manufacturing industry and achieve leapfrog development

In a word, if an enterprise starts from product development, takes information flow as the core, makes full use of network technology to reconstruct its organizational structure, adopts new management methods, and adapts to the enterprise operation mode of the new economy, it may become a manufacturing enterprise in the new economic era

2 digital factory (e-factory)

with technological progress and market competition, the technical content and complexity of products are increasing, and the product life cycle is increasingly shortened. Therefore, shortening the development and launch cycle of new products has become an important factor in forming competitive advantage

digital factory is based on the idea of using computers to complete the whole product development and "manufacturing" process. Build a product model on the computer, analyze the model, then improve the product design scheme, and carry out "test" and "manufacturing" in the digital state, and then recombine the design or improve the manufacturing process. Digital factory not only focuses on the correctness of new product design, but also avoids mistakes in process design, equipment layout, planning and control through simulation, optimizes the utilization of production resources, ensures the smooth progress of the whole process of new product production, and enables new products to seize the market in the shortest time and at the lowest cost

virtual prototyping is the modeling and analysis of product geometry, function, manufacturing and other aspects by using the powerful advantages of virtual reality in visualization and interactively exploring the functions of virtual objects. On the basis of 3D CAD model, it combines virtual technology with simulation method to provide a new method for the establishment of prototype. Virtual prototype can be used to quickly evaluate different design schemes. Compared with physical prototype, virtual prototype is generated faster, the generated prototype can be manipulated and modified directly, and the data can be reused. Using virtual prototyping technology can reduce or even cancel the production of physical prototypes, so as to speed up the development process of new products

virtual prototype must be able to reflect the characteristics of physical prototype, including appearance, spatial relationship, kinematics, dynamics and so on. Users should be able to observe the virtual prototype from different angles and in different proportions, and also be able to qualitatively judge the function of the product by manipulating the prototype. Therefore, in order to make virtual prototyping work, virtual reality, modeling, simulation and other technologies must be combined to form an integrated virtual prototyping development environment that can provide the required information and real-time interaction

virtual prototype is not to replace CAD system, but to work on the basis of CAD data. Virtual reality system provides additional functional information to the designed object. For example, in the conceptual design stage, the shape of the virtual prototype can be changed intuitively and conveniently. That is to say, the data model can be changed interactively under the action of real-time feedback. The principle of this function comes from the idea of "ceramic sculpture". Through the data glove, the user can point to the places that need to be improved on the model, and the real-time collision tracking function changes the shape of the model according to the movement of the hand

3 rapid prototyping manufacturing

rapid prototyping technology is a new manufacturing technology based on discrete and stacking principles. It discretizes the CAD model of the part in a certain way into Machinable discrete surfaces, discrete lines and discrete points. Then, a variety of physical or chemical means are used to stack these discrete faces, line segments and points to form the overall shape of the part. The specific method is that according to the 3D CAD model of the part, after format conversion, it is sliced layer by layer to obtain the two-dimensional contour shape of the cross-section of each layer. According to these contour shapes, one layer of liquid photosensitive resin is selectively solidified with laser beam, or one layer of paper or metal sheet is cut, or one layer of powder material is sintered, and one layer of binder or hot-melt material is selectively sprayed with spray source to form the plane contour shape of each section, and then gradually superimposed into three-dimensional parts
